Lesson 1 of 7
AXIS
Morning Alignment
Before the day acts on you, decide what governs you.
AXIS is the practice of setting your direction before the day begins. Inner Combat Training is conditioning for behavioral stability over time and under pressure — and pressure does not wait for you to feel ready. Alignment is how you keep your inner man from being governed by whatever arrives first: a notification, a mood, an offense, an appetite. This lesson explains what alignment is, why the morning matters, and how to practice it honestly.
Alignment is not a mood and not a feeling. It is a position. To be aligned is to know, before the day speaks, what has authority over your attention and your choices. The unaligned man is not a bad man — he is simply a governed man whose governor has not yet been decided. He will be governed by circumstances, because he did not decide anything first.
Inner Combat Training trains the inner man to govern himself correctly through mature processes. Alignment is the first of those processes, because every other process depends on it. A man who has not aligned cannot practice, because he has not yet chosen what he is practicing toward.
Notice the word morning in the title. That is deliberate. Alignment can happen at any hour, but the morning is where it is won or lost most often, because the morning is when the day has the least noise in it.
Recap
Alignment is a position, not a feeling: deciding what governs you before the day decides. Practice it in the morning with three questions — what is true, what is required, what I will practice. Return to it when the day pulls you out of order, and record honestly tonight what governed you. Repeated over time, this is the beginning of behavioral stability.
Reading provides understanding. It does not itself advance, verify, or establish anything — formation is demonstrated through practice, record, consistency, and evaluation.
